LECA, or lightweight expanded clay aggregate, are balls of fired clay, and used as a drainage layer in wet/humid vivariums. Sold in 1 gallon bags weighing approximately 3lbs. each, one bag should cover a 10gal vivarium to 1".

LECA provides great drainage, and plenty of surface area on which beneficial bacteria and springtails can reside. This will increase the overall health of your vivarium, allowing for natural digestion of waste products of small animals, and aeration of the soil into which you've planted.
